(I've had the board for about 4 years.)įrom the "PL-2303 CheckChipVersion Tool Program v1.0.0.6" readme file:. My chip is labelled "PL2303HX", and is a number of years old. Windows 8 (and, I assume, Windows 10) are not supported in the earlier versions of the PL2303 chip. Just google CH340 drivers and you will find plenty of direct I just downloaded the latest Prolific PL2303 Drivers to try to get my K150 PIC programmer working with Windows 10. I got my usb programmers from Ebay and have had no issues apart from having to install the drivers for one of them. Posted my connections to a pro mini (chinese) in case they are of any use. If it works on win 7 can you post a pic of the com port selections from device manager ? The IDE you are using is not the most stable have you tried 1.6.5 r5 or 1.6.9 ?ĭid you double check the RX TX connections as they often need to be reversed ?Ĭan you maybe supply a picture of the wiring to the pro mini and from the ft232 (or whatever device you are using) ?Īre you connecting directly to the computer (do not use unpowered USB hubs) ? If you have anything connected then maybe take it off and can you try without anything connected ? What are you using to upload (close up picture would be great) ?ĭo you have anything else connected to the board ? We can see you are trying to set up a pro mini using IDE 1.6.7 and you have no port selection and that's it.įirst off is it a cheap copy or a real Arduino ? Driver can auto-download via Windows Update (Windows 7, 8, 8.The pictures only tell a tiny part of the story.Īnd without any real information it is like trying to win the lottery to get you the answer you seek. Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 Certified WHQL Driver Compatible with Windows 2000SP4 & Server2003 Installer version & Build date: 1.12.0 () (For PL2303 HXA, XA, HXD, EA, RA, SA, TA, TB versions) This is the Prolific website read on the driver I installed:ĭownload File: PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1.12.0.zip July for the ones from the download page) and so Windows prefers it over them. The problem is probably that the non-working driver is the newest (September 2021 vs. I had only one other entry, a "ser2pl.inf" version " 3.8.40.0".ĭisconnect the device, and "pnputil /delete-driver oemXY.inf" with the INF file you located in the previous step.Ĭonnect the device again, and it should work, at least, it does for me. Then "pnputil /enum-drivers", and in the output look for Prolific drivers other than the ones from the previous step. It will add the two driver packages to the driver store and tell you what oemXY.inf files it has assigned to them. What I did is this:įirst install the downloaded driver by unpacking the zip file and "pnputil /add-driver *.inf /subdirs /install" (the /install is probably not necessary) from the extracted "Win11_DCHU" directory.
